The first-ever food exchange and agricultural megatrading center in the Philippines will be completed in Balagtas, Bulacan, in partnership with the Development Bank of the Philippines.

The comprehensive loan facility agreement between the Southeast Asian Commodities and Food Exchange (SACFEI), main proponent of the North Food Exchange (NFEx) project, and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) was signed recently at the DBP Central Office amidst a formal, yet cheery crowd of corporate executives from both organizations.

Aligned with major local and regional development programs and projects along the North Luzon Agri-business Quadrangle and Luzon Urban Beltway, the NFEx is a veritable “express highway” linking the basic food-producing and export sectors with modern modes of production and trade, and sustainable local and global markets.

The NFEx will strategically connect with the new Balagtas Interchange along NLEX, a major transport artery; the 24-km East-West Road connecting NLEX with the proposed MRT-7 in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, and the proposed Cargo Bay Facility of the North Rail Mass Transport System, that would extend from Caloocan to Clark  Field in Pampanga

NFEx will be the only agricultural trading facility that offers stall spaces for ownership by farmer producers, cooperative businesses, and small entrepreneurs through an easy-to-pay amortization scheme.
